About

Hello! I'm Julienne from Davao City, a web developer who takes pictures, draws, and crafts on the side. I like fine art and natural light photography, portraits, photos of nature and those vast, open, empty spaces.

Music was my first love. I listen mostly to 70s to early 2000s music. Then movies & art, and mathematics just about the time I started school. I eyed books since I was young, but the only ones available on my parents' bookshelves were engineering books.

This blog is a tribute to everything I love and support!

NEPHITHYRION

Nephithyrion is a place, a musty wooden chest that opens to starry skies...

Actually, it's a random word I thought of after watching a film involving angels. Nephithyrion, other than that it sounds like it came straight from a fantasy book, is a portmanteau of sorts that doesn't really mean anything. Rather, I treat it as my little corner on the web. But out of curiosity, I looked for meaning in similar words:
  1. First would be one that concerns angels. The Nephilim, believed to be "fallen angels" or "giants", were the offspring of the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men". This term is mentioned twice in the Hebrew Bible.
  2. Nepho- is a combining form meaning "cloud," used in the formation of compound words, for example: nephogram, a photo of a cloud.
  3. The Greek thyris means "window" and thyra means "door." (From what I've read, these words were used in the Greek New Testament.)
