The Sign8: Web Design & Development

I rarely talk about my work in this blog. But the absence of posts usually mean one thing: busy with work.

Photography, crochet & other crafts, art, film, and music: they're all right-brain heavy. But what I really do for a living is make websites. I started self-studying  HTML back in college where I was reading Math. After graduating, I took a PHP course and worked for several companies before finally deciding to go freelance.

Today, I make WordPress websites for The Sign8 Innovations. It was started by a friend who's now based in Florida. It's kind of exciting to follow an endeavor's growth, and I've watched The Sign8 grow from humble beginnings.

Davao Readers Circle

I have a couple of sites to promote. First up, the Davao Readers Circle Blog is now active. DRC was started in 2008 by a small group of book lovers as a way to share their love of reading. The meetings were scheduled every two weeks and held in different cafes around Davao City. The members would bring books they want to share or lend, then discuss these and other topics such as music, anime, and movies.

First members: (L-R) Raine, Aicha, Jesh, Chi, and Rhea
Last year was a slow one for DRC. The only meeting I remember was the Easter Book Hunting event arranged by Chi. This year though, we've found a new home in a little artsy cafe called Via and so far, the meet-ups have been regular and the members increasing. :)

Tamsi

Photos of my frequent visitor at home, Tamsi (Olive-backed Sunbird). Took these from the window because when I go outside, she flies away. I hope to get better ones next time.
